Diagnosis:
Symmetrical shell, carina and rostrum large, surrounded by imbricating plates. The family superficially resembles
Brachylepadidae
, but the scuta and terga are similar to those of
Neoverruca
.
Comment:
The taxon falls within the
Neolepadoidea
from molecular analyses (
Herrera
et al.
, 2015
) and is here raised from subfamily to family level.
