Redescription
Male
paratype
.
Integument black; prothorax reddish; peduncles of femora black to brownish. Frons and vertex shallowly reticulate. Whitish pubescence clothes the clypeus and forms a longitudinal vittae on each side of frons; sparser along the margin of the lower eye lobes. Clypeal suture missing.
Antennae exceeding middle of elytra by one segment. Segments 3–5 subserrate, gradually more expanded at apex, especially 5; 6–11 whitish pubescent; 6 as long as 5, strongly expanded apically from basal third; 7–10 conspicuously shorter than 6, decreasing in length, serrate, especially 7, 8, and somewhat swollen; 11 oval, somewhat swollen, as long as 3.
Prothorax subparallel at sides, almost as wide as humeri at base, then slightly attenuate to apex. Pronotum and sides of prothorax with micropubescence almost inconspicuous, giving a silky gloss aspect under light. Pronotum with some dorsal, erect, short setae at apical third; latero-basal gibbosities rounded, feebly prominent.
Elytra evidently sinuous at sides, narrowed before middle, somewhat depressed at base. Dorsal costa more evident at base extending to middle of elytra. With whitish, moderately long, erect setae more evident at apical third; without pubescence. Surface coarsely, deeply punctuated; punctures seriate in four rows, separated by one diameter, except at base and apex with smaller, irregularly distributed punctures. Margins asperate, the asperities far from each other at basal half, proximate at apical half, and stronger at apical third.
Peduncles of femora depressed, barely sulcate. Metafemora reaching elytral apices. Metatibiae straight. First segment of metatarsi as long as the following two combined.
Female.
Similar to male. Prothorax more cylindrical and narrower, more sinuous at sides. Punctuation of pronotum and sides of prothorax more evident. Metafemora almost reaching elytral apices.
Measurements (mm) male/female.
Total length, 6.3–7.2/5.2–5.6; prothorax length, 1.7–2.1/1.0–1.6; maximum width of prothorax, 1.2–1.3/0.9–1.1; elytral length, 4.2– 4.7/3.3–3.8; humeral width, 1.5–1.7/1.2–1.3.
