Antananarivo : Ambohimanga, Anjozorobe, Antananarivo , Mandraka – Prov. Toamasina : Ivondro – Prov. Fianarantsoa : Ambositra, Ihosy, Massif de l'Isalo (Km 713) – Prov. Toliara : Ampanihy, Behara, Bekily, Betroka, Fort Dauphin. Since KROMBEIN (1972) regarded the varietal name to be valid at the species level, it is attributed to OLSOUFIEFF 1938 according to Article 45.6.4.1 of the Code. The type is apparently lost ( VIETTE 1978 ).
