Comment
: The original description of
Z. variolatus
is based on a unique male from “
Malaysia
,
Pahang
, Jerau Water Falls” (
PACE 2003
). An examination of the
holotype
revealed that it is conspecific with
Z. montanus
, a species previously known only from Borneo. The male recently recorded as
Z. variolatus
from
Kelantan
(
ASSING 2017
) is evidently a specimen at the lower end of the size range of
Z. montanus
and additionally distinguished from other examined specimens by a dark antennomere X.
