Remarks. The name Eumodicogryllus was proposed as a subgenus of the genus Modicogryllus ( Gorochov, 1986 ) and later elevated as a genus ( Defaut, 2001 ). The species of the genus bear a clypeal suture which is shaped as an angle. At the beginning, Gorochov ( Gorochov, 1986 ) included Eumodicogryllus bordigalensis (= burdigalensis ) Latreille, 1804 , Eumodicogryllus chivensis (Tarbinsky, 1930) and Tartarogryllus vicinus Chopard, 1968 into this genus. Then, Eumodicogryllus theryi ( Chopard, 1943 ) was moved into this genus ( Gorochov & Llorente, 2001 ). But there is one species, Acheta chinensis Weber, 1801 , that has been forgotten after it was misapplied synonymy ( Chopard, 1967 ; Cigliano, et al. , 2021). We re-established this species name here and proposed two junior synonyms, E. bordigalensis syn. nov. and E. chivensis syn. nov. , of it.
