Distribution

Still only known from
Italy
, where it can be found in large numbers as recorded here.
Remarks
.
The status of this species is not yet settled: adults are inseparable from
E. heringi
and
liechtensteini
, but the larval habit (cutting out a case) is striking and unique for
Nepticulidae
. Molecular studies are currently in progress.
