Male: 3.6–4.0 mm; female:
4.3–4.5 mm
.
Yellow, head with 2 pairs of black rounded spots, one on the anterior margin and another on posterior margin of vertex. Forewings with smoky brown bands on the clavus and corium.
Male abdomen. 2nd acrotergite with trunk widely V-shaped, lateral processes elongate, neck short, less than half of trunk width. 2nd tergal apodeme reaching 1/2 of tergite posteriorly, median projection reaching the posterior margin. 1st sternal apodeme with posterior lobes round, longer than wide. 2nd sternal apodeme well-developed, with posterior lobes about 2.5 times as long as basal width, distinctly extending beyond sternum margin.
Male genitalia. Pygofer broad, with a distinct caudo-ventral tubercle, spinulose; aedeagal shaft slightly broad, smooth and straight; apical appendages crossed medially and bent caudally.

Remarks.
This species is very similar to
M. brunnescens
established by Anufriev (1968), but differs from the latter by the 2nd tergal apodeme with a median projection; 2nd sternal apodemes with posterior lobes narrow and 2.5 times as long as basal width. However, the latter with the characters of 2nd tergal apodeme without a median projection and 2nd sternal apodemes with posterior lobes broad and 1.5 times as long as basal width (Kwon, 1988).
Etymology.
The specific epithet “
brunneus
” refers to the forewing having brown longitudinal bands.
