Identification.
Plants pale green. Leafy branches predominantly ventral-intercalary, stolons frequent, sometimes with rudimentary leaves. Leaves distant to imbricate, ovate to oblong-ovate, asymmetric, apex rounded to short bifid, margin frequently incurved, slightly bordered by one row of subquadrate cells; cells isodiametrical-hexagonal, usually becoming smaller towards the margin, trigones usually large, inflated, cuticle papillose. The pantropical–holarctic genus
Odontochisma
is represented by 21 species, of which five occur in
Brazil
.
Gradstein and Ilkiu-Borges (2015)
presented a taxonomic revision of this genus.
