Type material. Holotype . Female , “ Bolivia , Coroico ” ( NHMB ). Diagnosis . F. excavatipes differs from other species of the genus in having elytra parallel-sided. Similar to F. grisea from which it differs in having broad transverse yellow stripe on elytra. Redescription . Body dark brown to black, only humeral portions of primary costae 3 and 4 , and transverse stripe in posterior 1 / 2–4 / 5 of elytra yellow ( Fig. 7 ). Head with small eyes, distance between eyes 2 x longer than eye diameter. Mandibles small, arcuate, terminal palpomeres of maxillary and labial palpi apically pointed. Antennae serrate, antennomere 3 as long as 4 ( Fig. 34 ). Pronotum transverse, 1.6 x wider basally than long medially. Anterior pronotal margin strongly produced forwards ( Fig. 22 ), lateral margins divergent posteriorly, slightly emarginate, posterior angles acute. Scutellum strongly emarginate distally. Elytra slender, 3.5 x longer than humeral width ( Fig. 7 ), each elytron parallel-sided, reticulate cells irregular. Male unknown. Body length: 9 mm , humeral width: 2.2 mm . Distribution . Bolivia .
