Gyrinus pleuralis
Fall, 1922
Gyrinus pleuralis
was reported from
New Brunswick
(as well as
Ontario
and
Québec
) by
Roughley (1991)
.
Oygur and Wolfe (1991)
, however, pointed out that this species is easily confused with
G. affinis
because the variations in body shape and colour overlap.
Gyrinus pleuralis
is a western species recorded in
Canada
from
British Columbia
to
Saskatchewan
(
Oygur and Wolfe 1991
). Thus, previous reports of the species from
New Brunswick
would certainly have been in error and the species is removed from the faunal list of
New Brunswick
.
