Newsteadia
is a genus of 58 species found worldwide, living in leaf litter and in moss growing in moist environments; nine species have been recorded in continental Africa (
Kozár & Konczné Benedicty 2000
;
Miller & Kozár 2002
;
García Morales
et al
. 2016
). In life, the dorsal submedian wax plates all project forwards (
Kozár 2004
). In Africa they are of no economic significance.
