Santa Maria material examined.
Single specimen, size not specified, from
Ponta dos Mattos
[
sic
], Santa Maria Island,
Azores
, Touril Complex,
Lower Pliocene
.
Discussion.
This species was recorded based on a single specimen from Ponta dos Matos. It is a very characteristic Miocene European Atlantic and Mediterranean species. Although no further specimens are at hand, we have no reason to doubt this determination. For full discussion, see
Landau
et al.
(2013: 197)
.
