This species ranges across central Africa, from Cameroon to Uganda . In Equatorial Guinea it has been recorded both in Bioko at Musola ( Boulenger 1906 ; Capocaccia 1961a ) and in Río Muni at Monte Alén National Park ( Lasso et al. 2002 ) ( Map 32A ). Comments. Some authors recognize two subspecies ( Spawls et al. 2018 ), the nominal B. depressiceps depressiceps , which is present in Equatorial Guinea , and B. depressiceps marlieri from Democratic Republic of the Congo , whereas other authors consider them with full species status ( Chippaux & Jackson 2019 ). The phylogenetic position of the genus Buhoma is a matter of discussion ( Zaher et al. 2019 ). Specimens examined. No specimens of this taxon have been found in the examined collections.
