To accommodate the new species described below into Alpagut , the diagnostic characters of the genus as recognized by Pluot-Sigwalt & Péricart (2003) , Streito & Péricart (2005) , and Heiss & Péricart (2007) should be revised as follows: Left laterotergites 3, 6, 7, and 8 modified as appendages, articulated or not; mediotergite 3 with finger-like appendages or without appendages; spermatheca insulated in the left side of the general cavity fixed by surrounding curticules, a loculus capsulae.
