Comments.
Nymphs and nymphal exuviae of this species have distinctive pigmentation patterns (
Ray & Stark 1981
,
Nelson 1996
). The recollection of exuviae in 1988 is evidence that this species still persists in the Cumberland River Basin. We anticipate that
H. fugitans
is in other large rivers such as the lower Green and
Ohio
rivers.
