Material in MHNG , Lamarck collection: 4 specimens, among them 3 probable syntypes , MHNG INVE 51734 ( ex MHNG 1098/36) (figured herein, Fig. 9A D ); 1098/36/1 : 21.5 mm ; three other specimens not distinguished by a secondary number: 20.4 mm , 18.7 mm , 16.3 mm , (base truncated). Kiener probably illustrated one of Lamarck’s specimens. No locality given on the label. Remarks: According to Rosalie de Lamarck, her father’s collection contained three specimens . Current taxonomic position: Fusinus maroccensis ( Gmelin, 1791 ) ; placed in synonymy with Fusinus maroccensis by Lamarck (1822) : 131. This species is often placed in the genus Sinistralia , a synonym of Fusinus . Locality is northwest Africa and the Canary Islands.
