According with Chant & McMurtry (2005a) , P . neotropicus belongs to belizensis species group by having no macroseta on genu I. Measurements of females collected in this study generally agree with those mentioned by Moraes & McMurtry (1983) for the holotype , except that their seta j3 and Sge IV are approximately 1.3 times longer. We consider that the specimens identified by Furtado et al . (2007) as P . cannaensis (Muma) are actually P . ovatus .
