Distribution.
China
(Hainan).
Remarks.
The new species is somewhat similar to
Noonamyia euphlebia
Sasakawa
from
Malaysia
in the following characters: face with a pair of shining brown stripe–like spots between stomatic margin and parafacials; hind tibia with 1 preapical
ad
; abdomen shining brownish black except protandrium and epandrium pale brownish yellow. But it can be separated from the latter by the wing with a hyaline round spot beyond
r-m
and a tinged brown spoon–like spot on
r-m
, the surstylus consisting of a short awl–shaped process and a long curved awl–shaped process, the hypandrium nearly W–shaped, the gonopod with two furcated acuate apical processes. In
euphlebia
, the wing with a hyaline elliptic spot beyond
r-m
and a hyaline bar–like spot on
r-m
; the surstylus has a unique incurved triangular process; the hypandrium is U–shaped; the gonopod is acinaciform without basal tooth (
Sasakawa 1998
).
Etymology.
Latin,
bi-
, prefix meaning two +
subulata
, meaning awl-shaped and pointed, referring to the two awl-shaped processes on the surstylus; a feminine adjective.
