Brazil (Bahia, Rio Grande do Sul, Paran, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro [Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. Itaguaí, Macaé, Teresópolis]). Comments. The holotype male is deposited in the British Museum of Natural History, London. An additional 46 males and 17 females are deposited in MNRJ. We revalidate the status of Epilampra basistriga based on the studied specimens in the collection of Museu Nacional, and confirm the finding of Roth (1970) that the species has a relatively large L2d that overlays a considerable area of the prepuce.
