Sars (1883)
originally described this species as
Promysis pusilla
, where he in 1885, transferred the species to
Anchialus pusillus
. And in 1910, Hansen revised several genera in
Gastrosaccinae
and placed
A
.
pusillus
in his newly established
Pseudanchialina
. This species is very similar to
P
.
inermis
, however, they can be distinguished by the following characters: in
P
.
pusilla
, the rostrum is rounded and lateral margins of the telson is armed with 3–5 spines, while in
P
.
inermis
, the rostrum is subtriangular and the lateral margins of the telson armed with 6–9 spines (
Hansen 1910
).
