the inner series, maxilla toothless. Lateral line complete, with 44-50 pored scales; transverse series above lateral line with 7-10 scale rows and below with 6-9 scale rows. Dorsal fin with 12-13, pectoral fin with 14-19, pelvic fin with 8-9, anal fin with 10-12 and caudal fin with 19 rays (

). Ground color silvery, darker dorsally. Dorsal fin pale grey; pelvic fin reddish-yellow; remaining fins dark-gray (

).
