REMARKS
Altiverruca erecta
was redescribed and discussed by
Young (1998c: 111)
. The specimens collected during the present expeditions are similar to that figured by
Gruvel (1902d
: pl. 5, figs 7, 8) and indicate the growth ridges are more prominent on the carina (
Fig. 27
). It was collected from the
Azores
at
3175 m
and from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge between 3947 and
3375 m
(
Gruvel 1902d: 93
;
Young 1998c: 111
). These new records agree with the previous geographic distribution but increase its depth range to
890-3947 m
.
