( Figs. 1–2 , Map 11) Type locality. Ghallajeh , 40 km Northwest of Ilam city , Ilam Province , Iran . Type material. Holotype ( HMIM ): Ilam , Ghallajeh , 33°57'12"N 46°17'14"E , 1810 m , 18.VIII.1996 , leg. Bar./Parch./ Naz.V. Paratypes : (CGP): same data as holotype; ( HMIM ): Kermanshah , Mahidasht , chaharzebar-e Olya , 34°12'10"N 46°39'05"E , 1500 m , 21.VIII.1996 , leg. Bar. / Parch. / Naz.V. Diagnosis. The species is very similar to E. lizlerwerneri Mertlik & Dusanek (Kabalak et al ., 2013) , distinguished by the slenderer and larger body in average, shorter antennae and a very shallow and narrow midlongitudinal line at basal slope of pronotum. Description. Male: Entirely rufo-testaceous with head and anterior margin of pronotum rufous; covered with testaceous, dense and long pubescence. Head with eyes as wide as the anterior margin of pronotum, frons flat between the eyes, with a distinct, rather triangular impression, with the anterior angle between eyes and its opposite side near the anterior margin of the frons, the latter moderately thickened, slightly sinuate or straight at middle and protruding sub-horizontally above the clypeus; punctures coarse, clearly umbilicate with variable interspaces, on average smaller than their own diameters. FIGURES 1–2. Elathous zagrosensis sp. n. ; (1) Dorsal habitus; (2) Aedeagus, dorsal view. Antennae exceeding the apicis of posterior angles of pronotum by one and a half to two antennomeres, serrated moderately from fourth article on; second article subconical, nearly twice as long as wide, third subconical, 1.2 × as long as the second article with the same width at its widest place; second and third almost as long as fourth; fourthtenth rather triangular, on average slightly twice as long as wide, last 1.3–1.4 × longer than penultimate, subellipsoidal. Pronotum as long as wide or 1.1 × longer, apicis of posterior angles slightly wider than the widest part of the pronotum, moderately and regularly convex, sides arcuate from posterior fourth, narrowing regularly, slightly sinuate backwards before the posterior angles, the latter short, acuminate, divergent at tips, with a raised carina as long as the angles, directed inwards; lateral margins simple; puncturation uniformly distributed, punctures rather umbilicate, on the disk with intervals on average equal to their diameters, slightly denser towards the sides. Scutellum shield-shaped, almost 1.5 × longer than wide, slightly convex, moderately punctured. Elytra 2.9–3.0 × longer than pronotum and1.2 × wider than at its widest place, moderately convex; sides subparallel from base to after the middle, further gradually narrowing to the apicis; striae regularly punctured; interstriae flat, densely and finely punctured. Tarsal articles simple, apical article almost as twice as long as the penultimate, first to fourth gradually decreasing in length. Aedeagus as in Fig. 2 (length 1.4–1.5 mm ). Female: unknown. Size: Length 10.0–11.0 mm; width 2.7–3.1 mm . Etymology. The name of the species refers to the geographical distribution in Zagros Mountains. Habitat. Specimens were sorted out among the deposited specimens at HMIM. No habitat records were mentioned along with the specimens. Climate types . Semi-arid, cool winter and warm summer.
