Diagnosis
. Known only from
Taiwan
; males and females with orange pronotum and dark brown elytra; distinguished from other species of
Abscondita
by the dorsal colouration. Redescribed from a
lectotype
designation by Fu and Ballantyne (2008).
Remarks
. Ohba and Yang (2003) described the flash patterns of males and females. Wu and Yang (2009) and Wu
et al.
(2010) described two patterns of terminal light organ in
V7
and the different flashing patterns observed, indicating the possibility of a cryptic species complex.
