Type locality: Europe [probably Sweden ]. Remarks. Listed from SaudiArabia by Kenawy et al. (2014) , but this is probably a misidentification as Sarcophaga carnaria so far has not been recorded south of the 40 th parallel north ( Pape 1996 ). The record of Sarcophaga carnaria from Saudi Arabia was accepted by Verves & Khrokalo (2018) , but considering the nomenclatural complexities ( Pape 2002 ), the numerous misidentifications in older material, and the lack of reference to voucher specimens by Kenawy et al . (2014) , the presence of this species in Saudi Arabia is in need of verification.
