"Habitat in America australi." RCN: 6247. Lectotype ( D'Arcy in Woodson & Schery in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 62: 1021. 1975): Herb. Linn. No. 994.11 ( LINN ) . Current name: Conyza bonariensis (L.) Cronquist ( Asteraceae ). Note: Specific epithet spelled "bonariense" in the protologue. Although Blake (in Contr. Gray Herb. 52: 27. 1917) suggested that the name was based on the cited Dillenian plate, this is insufficiently explicit to accept as formal typification. Burtt (in Kew Bull. 3: 369. 1948) provided an extensive discussion of the name but did not designate a type.
