East and South China seas, and the Indian Ocean ( East Asia ). Remarks. Based on the presence of juveniles and adults, there is likely a breeding population at Plover Cove Reservoir. It was first recorded in Plover Cove Reservoir in Hong Kong in 1967 (the year the reservoir was completed) where it was suspected to originate from water piped from Shenzhen Reservoir in Guangdong ( Man, 1974 ).
