Diagnosis. 6.0-7.2 mm long (mean = 6.86 mm; n = 5); 1.8-1.9 x as long as wide. This species is distinguished by its larger size; declivity strongly impressed, sides of impression raised and bearing tubercles or rugosities; and elytral impression bearing fairly sparse, long hairs or short hairs only. This species is most similar to H. comans from which it is distinguished by the strongly impressed declivity rather than the declivity plano-concave from suture to interstriae 3. Similar species.
