Fruit description:—Fruits globose, sometimes pyriform (

6–15 mm
in diameter, green when immature, changing to red, becoming dark purple at full maturity.
Notes:—
Mattos (1966)
described
Mitranthes capivariensis
based only on flowering material (
Edwall s.n.
). It was known exclusively from the
type
collection in the municipality of Capivari,
SP
, and was recently collected with fruits in the municipality of
Cunha
, in a high altitude rainforest (
Maruyama 6357
).
