Neomitranthes capivariensis (Mattos) Mattos (76:1981). Mitranthes capivariensis Mattos (1966: 53) . TYPE :— BRAZIL . São Paulo , Capivari, Colônia Capivari, 20 August 1895 , Edwall s.n. ( holotype : SP !). Fruit description:—Fruits globose, sometimes pyriform ( Figure 2 ), 6–15 mm in diameter, green when immature, changing to red, becoming dark purple at full maturity. Notes:— Mattos (1966) described Mitranthes capivariensis based only on flowering material ( Edwall s.n. ). It was known exclusively from the type collection in the municipality of Capivari, SP , and was recently collected with fruits in the municipality of Cunha , in a high altitude rainforest ( Maruyama 6357 ).
