Identification.
Perennial decumbent, rhizomatous grass,
50–90 cm
height. Leaf-blades inear-lanceolate acuminate, densely covered with hairs on both sides,
16–36 cm
long,
0.6–1.1 cm
wide, ligulate. It is identified by its typ- ical panicle,
13–45 cm
long, with hairs on the axile and glabrous spikelets.
Common name.
Navalinha, Capim-mirião
Remarks.
A uncommon species, occurring sparsely on the native grassland.
Brazilian range.
Midwest, North (except TO state), Northeast (except MA, PI, RN and SE states), South (

) and Southeast regions.
