Identification.
Perennial tussock grass,
50–70 cm
height. Leaf-blades lanceolate with trichomes on the margin,
10–23 cm
long,
0.3–0.4 cm
wide, ligulate. Distinguished by its open panicle,
8–15 cm
long with verticillate branches.
Remarks.
Relatively common species on the native grassland, occurring mainly over shallow soils.
