It is referred as Characidium sp. 2 in Le Bail et al. (2012), but the particular colour pattern of the individuals collected in the Mitaraka might indicate another undetermined species, only known from Mitaraka, which was referred as Characidium sp. 3 by Melki (2016) . ECOLOGY. — Observed in median sized streams with sandy bottoms and moderate current velocities. Captured using rotenone and observed in underwater inventories. SPECIES CODE. — CSP.
