Agrilus quito belongs to a group characterized by the pronotum being blue-green, by median pubescence of elytra Y-shaped or inverted “T”, and rounded elytral apex. In this group, in size and shape, the species most similar to A. quito is A. perditus Curletti & Brûlé, 2011 - type in MCCI- from French Guyana . Both have the head with a red vertex, and a green pronotum, but they differ in the following main characters: A. quito A. perditus - Dorsal color more brilliant. - Dorsal color darker and less bright. - Sculpture of vertex with strong longitudinal stripes. - Sculpture of vertex punctiform. - Pronotum wider on posterior half, strongly sinuate before the - Pronotum wider on anterior half with posterior angles more basal angles that are more acute. squared. - Elytral pubescence yellow. - Elytral pubescence white. - Metatarsal formula 1<2+3. - Metatarsal formula 1=2+3+4.
