Masner, 1957; paratypus ; paratype ; Muséum Paris / 24.10. 58 [ syntype Ƥ]. Remarks. The status of this species has been somewhat confused; the name entered the literature as a nomen nudum ( Lemarie 1958 , 1959 , 1960 ) erroneously attributed to Masner. It was then cited, still as a nomen nudum, by Kozlov (1971) and then made available by Kozlov (1978) who inadvertently described it in a key. Opinions have differed subsequently, for example, Koponen & Huggert (1982) correctly considered it valid and correctly attributed it to Kozlov, whereas Vlug (1995) was in error in considering the name unavailable. It is reinstated here as an available, valid name. Although Kozlov (1978) did not indicate the type material clearly, it may be inferred, since Kozlov used the same name as Lemarie (1958 , 1959 , 1960 ) and quoted the biological data given for the reared series noted by Lemarie, that all of the specimens of F. hofferi noted by Lemarie (1958 , 1959 , 1960 ) are syntypes by bibliographic reference (ICZN 1999: Art. 72.4). The syntype specimen in the MNHN is card-mounted on its venter and is entire.
