Type species: Microstenus canaliculatus Szépligeti, 1916 . Diagnosis. Clypeus ( Fig. 3 ) wide and moderately convex, its apex weakly concave, without a median tooth. Hypostomal carina ( Fig. 6 ) absent apically. Sternaulus ( Fig. 9 ) evident, reaching middle coxa. Fore wing ( Fig. 7 ) with vein 1cu-a basad of 1/M approximately 0.5 to 0.6 × length of 1cu-a. Propodeum ( Fig. 11 ) evenly convex, smooth; lateromedian and lateral longitudinal carinae absent, pleural carina absent between anterior transverse carina and base of hind coxa; anterior and posterior transverse carinae strong; with a median and two sublateral longitudinal grooves between transverse carinae. Ovipositor sheath about 0.8 to 1.1 × as long as hind tibia. Lower valve ( Fig. 15 ) with a dorsal lobe enclosing upper valve, apical with oblique ridges; apical of upper valve with wavy ridges.
