Wing with brown isolated apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1, extending to tip of veins; basal edge of apical spot on R2+3 behind vertical level of dm-cu ; basal edge of apical spot on R4+5 slightly behind vertical level of spot on M1; length of apical spot on M1 shorter than half of ultimate section of M1; a brown elliptical spot on R4+5 at middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu ; brown cloud on dm-cu , constricted at middle; subcostal cell brown apically. Description. MALE. Body length 5.6–6.6 mm , wing length 5.4–6.3 mm . FEMALE. Body length 6.3 mm , wing length 6.2 mm . Head yellow or brownish yellow. Frons with a pair of pale brown medial stripes extending to vertex, as long as wide and parallel-sided; ocellar triangle yellow; oc developed, longer than posterior or . Gena about 1/7 height of eye. Antenna yellow, 1st flagellomere about 1.8 times as long as high; arista black except for pale brown base, ray plumose with longest ray as long as height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis and palpus yellow. Thorax yellow or brownish yellow, with sparse grayish white pruinosity. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc (1st postsutural dc behind transverse suture), acr in 6–8 rows, uniformly short hair-like; prsc as long as 1st post-sutural dc . Scutellum yellow. Legs yellow except for tarsomeres 3–5 pale brown. Fore femur with 3–4 strong pv and 6–8 pd , and ctenidium with 17–19 short setae; fore tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 1 short apv . Mid femur with 3 a (5 a in female) and 1 app ; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 3 strong apv . Hind femur with a row of weak av (only 3 apical setae distinct) and 1 preapical ad ; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 short apv . Wing ( Fig. 23 ) slightly yellow, brown isolated apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1, extending to tip of veins; basal edge of apical spot on R2+3 behind vertical level of dm-cu ; basal edge of apical spot on R4+5 slightly behind vertical level of spot on M1; length of apical spot on M1 shorter than half of ultimate section of M1; a brown elliptical spot situated at middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu ; brown cloud on dm-cu , constricted at middle; subcostal cell brown apically; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 4.8:1.3:1; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1:1.6; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/9 of penultimate. Halter yellow. Abdomen yellow or brownish yellow, with grayish white pruinosity. Male genitalia ( Figs 327–331 ): syntergosternite circular with dorsal setulae and a setula around spiracle; epandrium very broad with short dorsal setae; surstylus consisting of a small triangular anterior ventral process and a broad apical process with a tiny triangular apical tip and long setulae in lateral view; hypandrium H-shaped; pregonite and postgonite subuliform, pregonite slightly longer than postgonite; aedeagus columnar with a deep apical incision, a pair of tiny asymmetrical subbasal teeth in ventral view, a blunt dorsal middle process and an acute dorsoapical tip in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme shorter than aedeagus. Type material. Holotype ♂ ( CAUC ), CHINA , Hunan Province : Zhangjiajie, 500 m , 7–9. VII. 1994 , Mingfu Wang & Chuntian Zhang. Distribution. China (Hunan). Remarks. The new species is similar to Homoneura ( H .) chinensis Malloch from China in the following characters: wing with brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 extending to tip of veins; a small brown round spot on R4+5 present between r-m and dm-cu ; brown cloud on dm-cu and no spot on r-m . But it can be separated from the latter by the surstylus being broad and having a small triangular anterior ventral process and a broad apical process with a tiny triangular apical tip and long setulae in lateral view. In Homoneura ( H .) chinensis , the surstylus is slender and has a straight and acute apical process, but no triangular anterior ventral process in lateral view ( Malloch, 1929 ). Etymology. The new species is named after type locality Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province.
