Description . See Forest (1987a: 77) and McLaughlin & Lemaitre (2009: 189). Size . Largest male sl 10.2 mm, largest female sl 8.8 mm, ovigerous females sl 4.7–8.8 mm. Habitat . Cavities in sunken wood or tusk shells (McLaughlin & Lemaitre 2009; this study). Distribution . Previously known from the Philippines, Solomon Islands, Indonesia; 283–1764 m (McLaughlin & Lemaitre 2009). Newly recorded from Papua New Guinea. Remarks . After examining additional specimens from the Solomon Islands and the Philippines, McLaughlin & Lemaitre (2009) concluded that Bathycheles integer and B. profundus were conspecific. They choose the name B. integer as the senior synonym.
