Schintlmeister. Diagnosis. Forewing length 18 mm19 mm in males and 18 mm in female. The S. melanopa is closely related to the S. melaleuca found in Vietnam . In S. melanopa , the forewings are deep blackish with mixed white scales, while in S. melaleuca Schintlmeister, 2007 , the ground colour is paler and the forewings have black discal spots. In male genitalia, S. melanopa’s uncus arms are longer, straighter and tapered, whereas S. melaleuca’s are convex. S. melaleuca has a straight and longer spine at the tip of the phallus, while S. melanopa’s phallus is curved and has a short spine. Distribution. India : Manipur (In the present study). Elsewhere: Thailand , SW China ( Yunnan ) ( Schintlmeister 2008 ).
