Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of
Scolioplanes
, it was subsequently cited also under
Linotaenia
. Other specimens were recorded and the validity of the species was never questioned. It is assigned here to
Strigamia
for the first time (
new combination
), because it shares all the major diagnostic features of
Strigamia
(see above under “Notes on synonymies”). However, published descriptions suggest that it could be a senior synonym of either
S. hirsutipes
or
S. japonica
, because the only differential character recognized is the putative projection of the forcipules in front of the anterior margin of the head (
Meinert 1870
) but this condition is not known in any other species of
Strigamia
or related genera and it can be due to some post-mortem displacement of the head with respect to the trunk (our obs. in other geophilomorphs).
Distribution: southern part of Siberia, from central Asia to Sakhalin island.
