Type locality: Henan , China . Type depository: Nankai University. Material examined. KOREA , Jeju-do , 1 ♁, 4 ♀ , Jeju-si , Haean-dong , Hallasan National Park , Eorimok , 975 m , 18.VI.2022 , leg. Ga-Eun Lee , genitalia slide nos LGE23001, 23003, 23005 ( JNU ), DNA voucher nos LGE-G735, 736 ( JNU ) . Diagnosis. Forewing span 9.0–10.0 mm (n=5) ( Fig. 17 ). The species can be diagnosed by the grey forewing marked with transverse dark striae, the Y-shaped sternite VIII, the cornutus with strong denticles in the male genitalia ( Fig. 21 ), and the signum with a large oval basal plate and two horizontal horns in the female genitalia ( Fig. 22 ). FIGURES 17–22. Argyresthia ( Blastotere ) densa Liu, Wang et Li. 17, adult, female; 18, head in lateral view; 19, male abdominal segment VIII, slide no. LGE23003; 20, male genitalia with sternite VIII attached, ditto; 21, phallus, ditto; 22, female genitalia, slide no. LGE23001 (Scale bars: 0.2 mm except fig. 17 = 2.0 mm). Variation. The type specimens from China have forewings more strongly mixed with yellow compared to a Korean specimen. Also, sternite VIII is long and Y-shaped and the socius bears 17 setae in the holotype ( Liu et al ., 2017; fig. 89), whereas a single specimen from Korea has a short and reduced sternite VIII and the socius with 19 (right side) or 20 (left side) setae. Distribution. Korea (new record), China . GenBank accession numbers. OQ857838, OQ857839. DNA analysis. The closest relative of A. ( B. ) densa registered on GenBank is the European A. ( B. ) aurulentella Stainton, 1849 (accession no. HM871641), with the genetic distance of 8.2% ( Table 1 ). Remarks. For the descriptions of adults, wing venation and genitalia, see Liu et al .
