Not mentioned for Israel but BODENHEIMER 1937: 112 redorded Pterostichus leus ANDREWES 1927 (which is synonym to P. wollastoni ) for Palestine . Most probably also JEDLIČKA’ s (1957: 99) record of Pt. leus for " Palästina , Bagdad , Irak " refers to P. wollastoni (WOLL.). First records for Greece , Turkey , Syria , Iran , and Kuwait , and confirmation of occurrence in Israel with first detailed records. The record for Greece should be corrobo- rated by further findings.
