Common in HFR, where invariably observed in bamboo. The territorial song and drumming is audible over long distances, and evidence of its feeding behaviour is often observed on bamboo stalks. A pair with two juveniles observed by TNM on 12 August 2014 , in bamboo near the reserve headquarters ( Fig. 3A ) .
