Material examined.
Stn 102, one colony with few stems, up to
5 mm
high, on gravel (NIWA 117478).

12–13 x
6–7 µm) and smaller (6.5–
7 x
3 µm) microbasic euryteles.
Ecology and distribution.
In Antarctic waters, a shelf species found at depths between 10 (
Puce
et al.
2002
) and
702 m
(Peña Cantero 2009); present material at
536 m
, epilithic on gravel. Epibiont on polychaete tube and sponge (
Soto Àngel & Peña Cantero 2015
) and basibiont for other hydroids (Peña Cantero 2009; Peña Cantero
et al.
2013). Gonophores in January (
Puce
et al.
2002
), December (Peña Cantero
et al.
2013) and April (
Soto Àngel & Peña Cantero 2015
).
Species with an Australian-Antarctic distribution (Peña Cantero 2009). In Antarctic waters known from
Tethys Bay
in the Ross Sea (
Puce
et al.
2002
; Peña Cantero
et al.
2013) and the
Balleny Islands
(Peña Cantero 2009), in East
Antarctica
, and from the
South Sandwich Islands
and the Discovery Bank (
Soto Àngel & Peña Cantero 2015
), in West
