Male. Reddish brown to dark brown integument. Body covered with light brown pubescence except head, femora and tibiae, which are covered with yellowish pubescence, and apex of scutellum, which has a yellowish spot; whitish-yellow pubescence covering the scape, pedicel and basal half of antennomere 3; this pubescence is also present in a transverse band at base of antennomeres 4–11, in two bands on inner face of elevated ridges of pronotum, in longitudinal C-shaped band that starts at base of elytra toward elytral suture, being interrupted at apex of crest; in a spot that covers the entire apical 1/4 of elytra and covers the ventral surface; dark-brown pubescence in two bands that cover outer surface of elevated lines of pronotum, in a central spot triangle shaped at the base of pronotum, covering the scutellum, in an elytral spot around scutellum, in apex of elytral crest, in a spot between the crest and elytral suture and in a transverse band just after the middle of elytra; whitish pubescence in a curved band starting at humeri toward elytral suture.
Frons flat, lower eye lobes 1.3 times larger than genae, and two erect setae on inner margin. Antennae with scape 1.2 times longer than antennomere 3.
Prothorax 1.6 times wider than long; pronotal disc with two elevated ridges converging anteriorly with postmedian elevation between them. Scutellum with truncate apex. Prosternal process two times narrower than procoxal cavity; mesosternal process as wide as mesocoxal cavity.
Elytra 4.4 times longer than prothorax; center-basal crest near suture distinct; longitudinal carinae slightly visible; elytral apex with distinct spine on external angle.
Measurements (mm).
(Male/Female). Total length: 17.4/19.7; prothorax length: 3.1/3.4; prothorax width: 5.2/ 5.7; elytral length: 13.1/14.8; humeral width: 7.7/8.4.

Comments.
Trypanidius andicola
differs from other species of the genus by the color pattern of the pubescence of the body, and the presence of spines on the external angles of the elytral apex. In some species the outer angles are not projected, in others the outer angles are slightly projected or distinctly projected, but without distinct spines.
