IDENTIFICATION: Hill’s (1964) detailed original description was based on only a single specimen. Comparative measurements of additional material were subsequently reported by Swanepoel and Genoways (1979) , Genoways and Williams (1986), Brosset and CharlesDominique (1990) , and McCarthy and Ochoa (1991) . Pine et al. (1996) provid ed a comprehensive review of Glyphonycteris daviesi with measurements of specimens from througout its known range. No subspecies are currently recognized (Koopman, 1994; Pine et al., 1996 ). Our specimens of Glyphonycteris daviesi conform closely to previous descriptions of the species, although our male (AMNH 267856) has a slightly shorter forearm than previously reported. FIELD OBSERVATIONS: Our two specimens of Glyphonycteris daviesi , an adult male and an adult female, were captured in the same groundlevel mistnet on the same night in swampy primary forest.
