Male
. Abdominal segment VIII entirely covered with setiferous punctures, except a narrow medial longitudinal impunctate band; posterior margins of tergite VIII slightly arcuate backwards (Fig.12-1A), that of sternite VIII subtruncated (Fig. 12-1B). Tergite IX symmetrical, connected mediobasally. Sternite IX symmetrical, with acuminate base and broadly emarginated posterior margin (Fig. 12-1C). Tergite X symmetrical, nearly semicircle, base portion narrow and arcuate, posterior margin concaved (Fig. 12-1D),
in situ
broadly exposed between tergite IX. Median lobe of aedeagus subelliptical and large sized (Fig. 12-1E, F), basal piece without transparent, membranous medial-longitudinal band (Fig. 12D), anterior portion broad, tapered apically,
0.23 mm
; basal bulb
1.05 mm
long. Parameres symmetrical, short, slightly longer than 1/3 of basal bulb length. Internal sac broad and coiled several times, anterior portion bearing coarser, darker spines; apical portion with paired rows of fine spines; other parts extensively bearing scales and smaller spines (Fig. 12D, E; Fig. 12-1E, F).
Female
.
Posterior margin of sternite VIII (Fig. 12-1G) slightly sharpened backwards. Genital segment medium sized (Fig. 8-1H),
0.60 mm
long, sternite with slightly bisinuate base; supplementary sclerites symmetrical, subtriangular, and medium sized of
0.20 mm
long, overlapped most part of basal margin of genital sternite.
Distribution.
China
(
Hunan
).
Remarks.
This species could be distinguished from its congeners by: 1) elytra brown, except surface along suture and apical 1/5 distinctly paler (Fig. 12C); 2) frontal region wrinkled (Fig. 12A); 3) antennomere II distinctly longer than III; 4) pronotum not distinctly widened anteriad, lateral margins subparalleled, anterior angles not protruding; 5) admedian row of pronotum consisting of 6–7 punctures; lateral row, curvedly arranged, of 5–8 punctures (Fig. 12B); 6) with punctures arranged in 5–6 rows on each elytron; deflexed portion of each elytron with 5–6 rows of punctures; 7) male tergite X semicircle, with narrow, arcuate base, posterior margin distinctly concaved; 8) median lobe slightly tapered apically; 9) internal sac broad and overlapped, spines near apex more darker.
