The species is characterized by a wide and opened ventral base of the hypopygium, large gonocoxites with long and dense bristles in the apical third of the ventral side, a short and compact gonostylus with a short apical tooth and many (12–16) subapical spines in the apical half of the inner side, somewhat longer than the apical tooth. The species belongs to the Sc. vitripennis group. Distribution . Holarctic. Europe (N), Canada ( Alberta ). New for North America .
