Schizoeaca palpebralis

: 319
.
Now
:
Schizoeaca palpebralis
Cabanis, 1873
. See
Cory & Hellmayr (1925: 72)
.
Type
series
:
Cabanis (1873c: 319)
based this species on an unspecified number of specimens deposited in the
ZMB
. Entries in the Accession Catalogue of the
ZMB
show that he had two specimens at disposal, which are thus
syntypes
of this species.
Syntype
:
ZMB
21346 (B-10000), 3, collected by Jelski on "1871 r. 24 Czerwca" (field-label) [=
24 June 1871
] at "Maraynioc" [= Maraynioc,
Peru
]. Carlos Sánchez-Osés wrote on a red label attached to the specimen on
26 April 2005
"Kein
Typus
!", i.e. "No
type
!", without explanation. His opinion is unsubstantiated.
Syntype
: ZMB 21347 (B-10247), 3, collected by Jelski on an unknown date [=
May to September 1871
] at Maraynioc [= Maraynioc,
Peru
]. Received in spirit (label data).
Type
locality
: "Maraynioc" (
Cabanis 1873c: 319
), i.e. Maraynioc,
Peru
[
11.37°S
,
75.40°W
].
Remarks
:
Taczanowski (1889: 22)
listed a male and a female in the MIZ as
types
of this species. These specimens, which have not survived, had no
type
status (see
Mlíkovský 2009b
for details).
