Type species: Trisecodes agromyzae Delvare & LaSalle, 2000 , original designation ( type series studied, BMNH, Fig. 4 ). Diagnosis . Tarsi 3-segmented; antenna with 3 short, transverse funicular segments and 2-segmented clava; subtorular grooves present, diverging downwards; frontal sulcus angulate, V-shaped, placed far below median ocellus; scrobal grooves disconnected from each other; notauli complete, impressed; fore wing with characteristic pattern of hairlines originating from stigmal vein and bare areas above them; metasoma petiolate. Biology . The type species of this genus is recorded as a larval parasitoid of agromyzid flies on various host plants ( Delvare & LaSalle 2000 ). Distribution . Neotropics ( Delvare & LaSalle 2000 ) and Afrotropics ( Gumovsky et al . 2006 ; present).
