Heniartes cachabi
Wygodzinsky, 1947
The genus
Heniartes
Spinola, 1840
was revised by
Wygodzinsky (1947a)
, who subsequently described two new species (
Wygodzinsky 1953
).
Carcavallo
et al.
(1960)
described two further species from
Bolivia
. With the recent revalidation of
H. australis
Wygodzinsky, 1947
, the genus now includes 32 species (Forero & GilSantana 2003).
H. cachabi
was previously known only from the
type
localities, “
Cachabi
” and “Parambá” (
Wygodzinsky 1947a
), both located in northwestern
Ecuador
. This species (
Fig. 30
) constitutes a new record from
Colombia
, and extends the distribution of this species to the north.
